The bids for the players are scheduled to start shortly before the IPL auction 2020. For this, all the teams have come up. For the first time in Kolkata, 338 players will be bid in the event. Earlier, total 332 players were decided but shortly before, six names have been added to it. Of these six players, four are Indian names, while two are Overseas cricketers.
Six new names have been added to the list including R Vinay Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Sanjay Yadav, Robin Bisht, Jake Weerald and Matthew Wade. Before the auction began, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Pontig revealed the team’s strategy through a tweet. Ricky Ponting has said, ‘I am very excited about this auction. We are eyeing two batsmen, an all-rounder and two fast bowlers on this auction. There are a lot of good Indian players in our team, which will definitely benefit us.
IPL auction 2020: 332 not 338 players will be bid, know why?
Let me tell you that Ponting met the franchise management a week ago and discussed the team auction. This former Australia captain had said that even if you go through all the planning of the world, there is always a possibility of something unexpected happening during the auction.
Delhi Capitals have not won the IPL auction 2020 title but the team includes many world-class players. Ponting said that in the auction our focus will be on fast bowlers, especially foreign bowlers. He said that Pat Cummins and Chris Woakes could have a big bid. In my view, all-rounders are always special.
